sunday morning is not enough. its not enough for me, its not enough for any southern baptist conservative, or any god fearing drug dearler down on skid row. community is necessary.

derrick and i had a great summer, but it will take more than two guys living on skid row just hanging out to see disciples made out of drug dealers and drug addicts. what happens so often in places like downtown los angeles is that even when drug dealers, alcoholics, and prostitutes decide to follow christ they are turned back over to the only life they know on the streets; they simply have no alternative.

god doesnt need us, but it was hard to turn over my wee little troubles over to him as we pulled out of the parking lot in downtown for the last time; i told god, "i trust you with these people." and i do.

this has been a recent comfort to me:
that even when we forget these people, god will not.

in peace,
evan

Evan,
Hey just wanted to know more what you're doing! We all got to go to the Argyle Bluegrass Fest and Tony Rice, Josh Williams(Rhonda Vincent's old guitar player), Dan Tyminski and his band, and lots more great players, like the Gibson brothers, were their and Adam Steffy(Alison Krauss' old mandolin player) was there and he taught a mandolin class. We learned so much and got to meet and talk to all these great guys. Also(I think you'd like this group) the Carolina Chocolate Drops
were there. Their website is: www.carolinachocolatedrops.com .

I wish you were there- and here!

Miss you, lots of love!
Your cousin,
Faith
